Lonely

I am lonelyI am surrounded by my loves who don't bother to get to know me whose voices drown out the whispers coming from me whose ears only listen to what's given voluntarily They refuse to look beyond what's at the surface of me deny to acknowledge that I'm drowning Search my pleas for an easy answer that they won't see because they can't understand how they can be with me and how they can surround me, yet I'm lonely © Hannah Truelove

Lonely

I am lonely
I am surrounded by my loves
who don’t bother to get to know me
whose voices drown out the whispers
coming from me
whose ears only listen
to what’s given voluntarily
They refuse to look beyond what’s at
the surface of me
deny to acknowledge
that I’m drowning
Search my pleas for an easy answer
that they won’t see
because they can’t understand
how they can be with me
and how they can surround me,
yet I’m lonely
